Shadows in the Forest
A board game with beautiful pieces that is designed to be played in the dark. One small light is moved around the board as the teams try to hide characters behind trees or find them.
The only downside we found is that, depending on the time of year, sundown and children’s bedtimes aren’t always compatible. So this is solidly a winter months only game for us. But I also kind of like that about it. It’s a game that requires special conditions and that’s okay.

Kip&Co X Eleventh Hour
This collection is inspired by The Eleventh Hour, the elaborate picture puzzle book by Graeme Base. I loved it as a kid. Or maybe I just loved having it. I don’t think I ever solved the mystery. I’m not even sure I tried that hard. I mostly remember the feeling of looking. That sense of layering, of meaning just out of reach, has stayed with me much longer than the plot ever did.
I’m planning to buy the book again as an adult. Maybe I'll finally crack the code. Maybe the kids will.
The Kip&Co collaboration bed linen and pyjama pieces are not subtle. But I love the theatre of them Could they contain puzzles? I really, really hope so.
